US Airways CEO to speak at commencement

US Airways Chairman and CEO Doug Parker, a driving force behind the American Airlines merger, will deliver the keynote address May 3, 2013, at Thunderbird's spring 2013 commencement. When the merger goes through, Parker will be CEO of the world's largest airline. At Thunderbird he will address 242 degree and certificate candidates from 11 programs representing 35 countries. A decade of T-bird weddings

Wedding invitations come from all parts of the world when a person joins the Thunderbird family. During the past decade Gbemi Disu '06 has crisscrossed the globe to witness alumni nuptials from Morocco to Minnesota. As a Nigerian, she is no stranger to elaborate weddings, but she says T-birds take the extravagance to the next level. She has dined on duck feet in Hong Kong, peered through confetti in India, and watched sparks fly (literally) in Brazil. At the risk of leaving out some deserving bride or groom, Disu has decided to recognize the biggest, the best and the most memorable Thunderbird weddings in 17 categories. Read more...

Marketing guru nominated for Billboard award

Thunderbird alumnus Ted Ketterer '10, pictured at left with Latin artist Alyssa Bernal, was nominated with his Coca-Cola team for a Latin Music Marketing Award at the Billboard Latin Music Conference & Awards, which took place April 22-25, 2013, in Miami, Florida. The team's interactive Coca-Cola MIX'ON campaign, one of two runners up for Best Online or Social Campaign, allowed Hispanic teens and other Latin music fans to influence the red carpet show at the 2012 American Music Awards. Ketterer and his team also collaborated on the winning entry in the Best TV Campaign category. Read more...

1973 T-birds reconnect in New Orleans

A group of 1973 T-birds picked up where they left when they gathered for a mini reunion in New Orleans, Louisiana. "Everyone was fine, no one had changed, and itĀ seemed likeĀ it was a week ago since we last saw each other," said Peter Wallin '73, president of Holdun USA in Miami, Florida. "We met in New Orleans as a sort of midpoint between Texas, Colorado, Connecticut, California, Florida and Greece." Read more...
