Been there, done that

Although 94 percent of full-time Thunderbird professors have Ph.D.'s, a new survey shows they also bring extensive real-world experience to the classroom. The study, scheduled for publication later this summer as part of the 2013 Thunderbird Global Impact Report, covers the fiscal year ending June 30. Results show that full-time Thunderbird professors have worked an average of seven years as business managers and leaders. On average, each professor also speaks more than two languages and has lived 17.2 years outside his or her native country. During the fiscal year, each professor also visited an average of seven countries outside the United States. "Having a Ph.D. does not eliminate real-world experience," says Thunderbird Professor Robert Hisrich, Ph.D., who has 40 years of experience in sales, brand management, entrepreneurship and consulting.
