2013 Thunderbird Global Impact Report

Student teams in the Thunderbird Emerging Markets Laboratory completed more than 13,600 consulting hours in nine countries in fiscal year 2012-13. Thunderbird professors published 10 books and sold more than 79,000 copies of their cases. Thunderbird alumni donated more than 83 hours, on average, in their communities. Thunderbird Executive Education taught more than 1,100 programs in 23 countries. And Thunderbird for Good delivered more than 119,000 instruction hours to 23,200 nontraditional students from Afghanistan, Chile, Haiti and Peru. As a proud Thunderbird alumnus, Clip Flenniken '76 had a major role in his daughter's decision to attend the same school for her MBA. But the influence came by example more than coercion. "He never told me I should go to Thunderbird and never pushed me into making that decision," Shelley Flenniken '15 said. "What he and my mother did was raise me to be a Thunderbird." | Read more

Jumping out of an airplane never loses its edge for Iraqi War veterans Jorge Pedraza '14 and Ian Osorio, who served together in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. "Every time I jump, I am scared," Pedraza said. "But every time I face my fear."
