Alumni Reunite in Geneva
Twenty-one countries were represented among the more than 200 alumni who attended the 2005 Thunderbird European Reunion in June in Geneva, Switzerland.
Reunion attendees gathered at the Hotel Royal in the heart of "Paquis"—the center of Geneva's nightlife—for a cocktail reception and continued with festivities including an evening of dinner and dancing at the Domaine de Penthes. Thunderbird President Angel Cabrera, along with a handful of other school officials, were in attendance.
"This is a great opportunity to hook up with friends, old and new, hang out with fellow T-birds, perhaps explore a European city you might never have been to before," said Beatrice Bernescut '90 , a member of the organizing committee.
Many of the MBAs in attendance were from Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, with a few attending from as far away as Guam and Hong Kong.
The Thunderbird European Reunion, the first to be held on the continent since 2002, included a boat ride on the Lausanne across Lake Geneva. Some of the side trips included a train ride from Montreaux to Gruyeres in a 1915 "Belle Epoque" Pullman car; a boat ride to Yvoirre, a medieval village; a visit to Mont-Blanc and the Alpine town of Chamonix; and a guided walking tour of old town Geneva. Festivities wrapped up with an Au Revoir brunch on the final morning of the reunion.
The event was hosted by the European Committee and the Geneva chapter of the Thunderbird Alumni Association. Sponsors included Telesonique and Apricus.
