U.S. News & World Report Ranks T-bird No. 1 – Again
Thunderbird School of Global Management has enjoyed a steady position at the top of multiple B-school rankings during the past six months.
In April, the school earned its 12th consecutive No.1 ranking in international business by U.S. News & World Report. The accolade came just four months after Thunderbird’s No. 1 ranking in International Business by the Financial Times in its annual worldwide ranking of full-time MBA programs. The Wall Street Journals’ poll of corporate recruiters in September also ranked Thunderbird No. 1 in International Business.
“One of the main differentiators of our school is the knowledge and international experience of our faculty,” explains Mauricio Janauskas ’07, Thunderbird Student Government president. “They have an incredible ability to teach management in a global scope, and that is reflected in the rankings.”
Janauskas says Thunderbird’s strong brand and top rankings were extremely useful in his job search as well. Upon graduation in May, the Uruguay native and citizen of Argentina will begin a position in management consulting with McKinsey & Co.
“Holding the No. 1 position in every business publication that specifically ranks international business programs, solidifies the fact that Thunderbird remains the world’s leading graduate school of global management,” says Ángel Cabrera, president of Thunderbird. “As the pace of globalization continues to accelerate, global management education has never been more relevant and in demand. Thunderbird continues to lead the way in an increasingly competitive global business education environment through innovation, new programs and expansion of our global learning network around the world.”
The international specialty ranking was determined by a survey of business school deans and program directors, who nominated the top 10 programs for excellence in 12 specialty areas.
In the category of International Business, the top 10 schools in rank order were:
1. Thunderbird School of Global Management
2. University of South Carolina ( Moore)
3. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
4. Columbia University
4. Duke University (Fuqua)
6. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Ross)
7. Harvard University
