Bon Voyage for Global Tourism
Thunderbird CIBER is leading a 13-day excursion through the Caribbean to explore issues in International Tourism Management. This event, scheduled for January 7-19, 2005 aboard the cruise ship Coral Princess, will see participants set sail from Fort Lauderdale and make calls at destinations around the Caribbean.

Successful Conference on International Business and Government Relations in the 21st Century
The Thunderbird CIBER sponsored an on-campus conference on International Business and Government Relations in the 21st Century on January 5, 2004. The seminar was put together as a celebration of the career of Prof. Jack N. Behrman of the University of North Carolina, one of the founders of the international business discipline, and a leading writer on government-international business relations.

Large Crowd Gives Consortium's Conference High Marks
"Building Successful International Business Programs," a Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) program, sponsored by the Southwest Regional CIBER consortium was held in March and hosted by the University of Colorado at Denver.


CIBER Grant Helps Exporters Gain Internet Presence
A CIBER grant administered by Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management, will help small to medium size businesses in Washington state reach the global marketplace.




Global Gateway grows - Thunderbird's Global Gateway, a way to filter the Internet for business research, has recently added Bosnia-Hercegovina, Crotia and Estonia to the countries it covers. Global Gateway has over 4,150 records in its database.

Americas Conference


Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the eighth Annual Americas Conference Leadership in the Region: Perspectives and Changing Foreign Policy Realities at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL, Sept. 30 - Oct. 1, 2004.

The Miami Herald Americas Conference is the region's premier business and political forum on Latin America and the Caribbean. Last year, over 500 international executives and government leaders attended.

This year's theme is Leadership in the Region, focusing on Foreign Policy Realities. In this election year for the United States, how will foreign policy toward Latin America be affected?
