Not all the guests at the European Regional Night held February 26 on Thunderbird's Glendale campus wore kilts, but those that did certain stood out. The event, which was held in the Thunderbird Activities Center and attracted several hundred guests, featured dishes from such unusual areas as Bulgaria and Romania along with more familiar Greek and German fare and regional libations such as sangria, German beer, and Russian vodka (with pickle chasers).

Entertainment included Ramesh Srinivasan '05, who performed Franz Schubert's "Der Tod und Das Maedchen" in honor of Germany's contribution to classical music. Srinivasan graduated from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in vocal performance and has sung with the New York City Opera, L'Opera de Lyon, and the South African National Opera.

Alex Rozenfeld '05
and Katya Pak '05, both members of the Russian Cultural Club, performed a duet of a popular Russian love song. Cue cards with phrases like "Will He Call?" and "Nah" helped the audience to understand exactly what was going on.

After the show, participants danced to a variety of European music, lounged in huge inflatable couches or practiced their gambling skills at the Monaco-inspired blackjack and roulette booths.
