What is your academic and professional background and how is it aligned with Thunderbird?
“I wanted to learn more about the world outside of Jamaica, so I decided to attend Bryant University in Rhode Island and also spent a semester abroad in Costa Rica. Since I believe strongly in cultural awareness and sensitivity, I was very active in my university’s Intercultural Student Organization and co-chaired the school’s annual “I2I” concert which showcases the culture, talent and music of various countries throughout the world. After college, I interned as a Project Coordinator, working for EMC Corporation’s Global Chief Diversity Officer. There, I managed several million dollars geared towards furthering EMC’s diversity and inclusion initiative, along with helping to manage EMC’s 30 global affinity groups.”

What attracted you to Thunderbird?
“Thunderbird stood out to me because of its emphasis on fostering a diverse community with globally minded students. Also, when I saw that Thunderbird’s student body was 50% international, with representation from over 65 countries, I was sold! Seeing how the world is becoming more connected, having cross-cultural experience is valuable and cannot be underestimated in a competitive business environment. As an international student with a passion for finance, when I looked for a program to fit my interests, I was very keen on finding a school that went beyond conventional coursework and that would give me an international edge. Thunderbird fit the bill perfectly.”
What are your career aspirations and how will your Thunderbird education get you there?
“I plan to begin my career on the sell-side of the investment banking industry to gain research and valuation experience; thereafter, I hope to move on to portfolio management. With the experience of learning from outstanding faculty and sharing classes with the next generation of global thought-leaders, a Thunderbird education will undoubtedly act as a catalyst for my future success.”
