Judging in the Online RoundThe Online Judging Round will be conducted in two phases. In each phase, teams and judges will be categorized by sponsorship partners. Each judge will be assigned up to 10, two-page concept plans. Judges are provided a scorecard which is used to quantify the value of each element within the team's concept plan. As a judge, you may choose your preferred phase of judging and also your preferred sponsor for whom you would like to be a judge. Phase 1 October 13 - 19, 2008: Judges will be assigned up to 10, two-page concept plans. All teams will be assigned 5 judges each. The objective is to review all plans in a fair and forthright manner and to select the top 50 percent of the teams to go through to the 2nd Phase of judging based on average scores received from all judges assigned to a particular team. Phase 2 October 20 - 26, 2008: Judges will again be assigned up to 10, two-page concept plans from the top 50 percent of teams - judges will not (and may not) receive the same concept plans reviewed in Phase 1. All teams will be assigned another five judges each. The objective is to re-evaluate the top 50% of concept plans carefully to identify the top 10 finalists. October 27, 2008: Based on the average scores received from all judges, rankings will be tabulated for all competing teams and the Top 10 Finalist Teams announced. |
