Marketing Association

Mission & Purpose

The Thunderbird Marketing Association (TMA) is the premier organization for networking activities, cutting-edge industry knowledge, and unique career development opportunities in marketing at Thunderbird. Carefully catered to the unique needs of the culturally diverse Thunderbird community, the TMA has traditionally had the highest student participation among clubs and is one of the most influential professional organizations on campus.

Opportunities for Employers to Get Involved

The TMA is constantly seeking dynamic ways to provide top-notch resources to the Thunderbird community and looks to forge and maintain strong relationships with successful organizations, alumni and business professionals from around the world. Contact us using the information at the bottom of the page to get involved with these and other TMA events:

  • Marketing Functional Day
Send a marketing professional from your organization to speak at this event designed to increase student understanding of the various career paths in marketing and brand management.
  • Company Events / Campus Guest Speakers
Host an information session at the Thunderbird campus to speak about your organization, recent projects and successes, current opportunities, or insightful expertise about marketing and brand management trends and strategies.
  • Event Sponsorship
The TMA frequently hosts networking, speaker and educational events. Brand your company while helping the TMA to subsidize costs for these professional events.
  • Mentorships/Partnerships
Giving to students doesn't need to be limited to financial support. Mentorships and other partnerships with the TMA provide students with the insight, knowledge and skills to succeed in their future careers.
  • Annual Thunderbird Marketing TREKs
Each year, members of the TMA and the Thunderbird Career Management Center coordinate a professional trip to visit companies and interact with marketing professionals in various business regions. The purpose of these TREKs is to build student understanding of the industry while simultaneously promoting your organization.
  • Conduct Learning Sessions
Classroom learning is greatly complemented by interactive Faculty-Student Learning Days and Lunch and Learn sessions. Marketing professionals can add significant value by providing business world insight at these events.
  • Case Competitions
Members of the TMA frequently participate in school and national case competitions. Providing consulting expertise or financial sponsorship for these case competitions is a great way to get access to the TMA's best and brightest.
  • Case Interview Prep
Case interviews are increasingly prevalent in business school recruiting, and TMA students are eager to perfect their skill in this interview style. Participate in or conduct your own campus interview prep session to help students in this important career search aspect.
  • Campus Recruitment
Each year, around 30% of Thunderbird students go into marketing careers. Post your internship or full-time opportunity as early as possible through the Career Management Center to gain access to TMA members and other top Thunderbird talent.
