The course is intended to provide a re-introduction to Indian business culture and current globalization trends in the Indian market. Of particular concern will be the sustainability of the growth and progress seen in Dubai over the last 20 years and the problems associated with managing a very diverse set of employees. Program content will focus on applied knowledge that will add to the student?s ability to manage organizations in a region which ahs experienced dynamic growth as well as the impact of the current financial crisis.

  • This course is about the business environment of Kenya and is designed to educate students about the challenges and opportunities therein for businesses, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, managers, and policy makers. Inter-alia, students will learn the importance of the Kenyan polity, society, economy and business environment in the East African region.

  • The European Union, NAFTA, APEC, and other
    regional economic agreements offer important opportunities
    and challenges for global managers. This course examines such issues as the origins and future of regional agreements; and their implications in such areas as trade, finance, and worker, environmental and other business regulations. The course may focus on a particular regional economic agreement or compare
    different agreements.

  • This Winterim will take participants to Hamburg, Berlin, Kassel, and Freiburg, where the program will explore high-tech in the green energy sector. Germany has been at the leading edge of the green energy movement for many decades and is often depicted as the ?Silicon-Valley? of the industry. Program content will focus on applied knowledge, such as the development and application of renewable energy technology, managing innovation, and dissemination. The course content and visits will have an integration of culture and global management issues in a highly participatory fashion.
