This is an introductory applications course exploring the profession and practice of management consulting. The narrow view of consulting is limited to the field of private sector management consulting and those firms that are dedicated to the practice. A broader view acknowledges that mastery of the skills and practices required in planning, executing, and delivering a consulting project is useful to anyone considering a career in management, whether in the private, public, or NGO sectors.

The Entrepreneurial CEO/Founder Seminar provides an understanding of, and appreciation for, the development and implementation of entrepreneurial strategies and policy development from the perspective of the CEO/Founder of the entrepreneurial enterprise.
In this course, students will follow, from a "been there-done that" point of view, the "story" behind entrepreneurial ventures, and importantly, learn first hand both success and failure factors faced by the entrepreneur CEO along the way.

This course will take participants to Lima and Arequipa, Peru where they will work with graduates of the SWEP Business Certificate program that are currently expanding their small to medium-sized businesses. In Lima, student will receive orientation training, visit a variety of small businesses and meet with professionals involved in the women entrepreneurship in Peru. They will also interface with Thunderbird Alumni and take part in cultural experience which highlight Peru?s current business environment as it related to small and mediums sized businesses.
