New Academic Director Announced for the Thunderbird Global Private Equity Center

The Thunderbird Global Private Equity Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Gary Gibbons as the new Academic Director.  Dr. Gibbons will lead the Center's academic research initiatives as well as the development of the private equity & venture capital curriculum. 

A visiting professor in the Walker Center, Dr. Gibbons received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Claremont Graduate School - The Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management. He holds an MS from California State University, a BS from the University of Arizona and is a Principal, Senior Analyst, and Portfolio Manager with the Coleridge Group in Phoenix.

Thunderbird Students Secure Internships at the 5th Annual Global Private Equity Investing Conference

After applying, 40 Thunderbird students were selected to attend the Thunderbird 5th Annual Global Private Equity Investing Conference on March 26-27, 2009. These highly qualified students were chosen based on their breadth of experience in private equity, academic qualifications, and interest in the industry.

As a result of networking afforded to students at the conference, more than twenty-five percent of students that attended the conference received offers for either internship or full-time employment with private equity firms.
