With the globalization of business and today's true "world economy," successful finance professionals need to understand not only the intricacies of fiscal activity on an international scale - but they need an in-depth understanding of financial matters that are driven by cultural nuances. Curriculum details & requirements


Foundations

Mandatory 1-week course emphacizing key aspects of leadership, team building, motivation, ethics and cross-cultural communication, during which you join a learning group to meet and work with your peers from around the world. Self-assessment tools and career-management strategies also covered. 


Winterims and Summerims

These 2-3 week on-location courses allow you to examine management issues and challenges up close through a cultural and global lens, giving you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in an international setting. Winterims take place in January; summerims take place in May.

Second Language Proficiency Requirement

To graduate, you must demonstrate proficiency in a second language. This can be achieved by entering the program already proficient in a second language and passing a proficiency exam, or by taking a language course at Thunderbird. MS in Global Finance students are encouraged to meet this requirement by taking an immersive summer language program abroad prior to beginning the degree program.
