Internships are a primary recruiting vehicle for employers of business graduates. Whether you are pursuing an MBA or a master's degree, an internship is a sound career step — and the Thunderbird CMC can help.

Around 1/3 of full-time MBA hires complete internships at the company that hire them.† The primary responsibility for investigating and securing an internship experience is yours; here's what you need to know:

  • Most internships occur in the summer, and the summer internship application process generally ends by January.
  • Many internship opportunities are posted by employers on the Thunderbird intranet.
  • Additional internship possibilities can be found at the Thunderbird Spring Career Fair, held in February each year. Meet with dozens of employers who are looking to hire intern and full-time candidates.
  • You must complete one full trimester of core classes before you accept an internship.
  • Your internship can count for anywhere from one/third of an hour to three credit hours on approval.
  • You may accept a non-credit internship depending on your work authorization status.
  • Internships must be full-time for a minimum ten-week duration, and are completed during a term you're not enrolled.
