Curriculum

Global MBA for Latin American Managers Focus Areas:

The curriculum for the Global MBA for Latin American Managers focuses on these three areas:

  • Basic and advanced global business strategy, management and leadership.
  • Cross-cultural and executive business communication.
  • International relations with a focus on global and Latin American business issues.

"Lock-Step" Sequence

You advance through the program in a prescribed sequence. If you drop out of the sequence, you must restart your coursework with a subsequent class.


Program Format

  • The program begins with a one and a half day orientation and a five-day, 40 hour seminar on-site.
  • The program continues with 640 hours of education via satellite and on-site classes.
  • Classes are offered on Friday afternoons and Saturdays every other weekend, except during semester breaks.
  • During each term, you take the equivalent of 8 credit hours of classes.
  • An Interim seminar provides you with the opportunity to study on-site in another region of the world.
  • The program ends with another 40-hour seminar at Thunderbird.
  • At the conclusion of the seminar, a graduation ceremony is held with school officials and faculty in Glendale, Arizona.

Official Language

English, which is the official language of the international business community, is the program's official language. Occasional guest lectures and presentations may be given in Spanish.


Time Period

The Global MBA for Latin American Managers program can be completed in 22-months. Students who temporarily drop out of the sequence for whatever reason forfeit any tuition payments, but are able to restart their coursework with a subsequent class.

The total Global MBA program is equivalent to 43.5 credit hours of classes. Each credit hour is equal to 15 hours of instruction. The equivalent of 8 credit hours is taught each term which stretches over 15 weeks. The program observes official American and Mexican holidays. Unfortunately, it is not possible to accommodate holidays of other countries without encountering major scheduling difficulties.
