Business Listening and Conversation
Scott Peters teaches in Thunderbird Executive Education and in the Business English Communication program as the Business Listening and Conversation course instructor. He has taught English as a foreign/second language since 1999 in a variety of settings, including university and corporate settings in the United States and Japan. He has taught language and culture courses, reading courses, business writing and presentation courses, conversation and listening courses, and preparation courses for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC). In 1999, he worked as an international marketing assistant at the World Trade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, where he helped organize trade missions to Africa and assisted clients with international market research.
Professor Peters earned a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Shenandoah University in 2010. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis on international business and German from Saint Louis University in 1999. The undergraduate program included study in Dresden, Germany and Madrid, Spain. Professor Peters is also a certified Cambridge ESOL examiner. He enjoys sports and music and has traveled extensively in Europe, North America, South America and the Far East. In addition to his native English, he speaks German and studies Japanese.
