Professional Bio: 

Preethika Sainam holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and a Masters in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Sainam also holds a Masters degree in Management Information Sciences and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her B.S. degree is from Purdue University where she was a Dean’s Scholar student throughout her years of study.

Prior to joining Thunderbird she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for a Start up firm in Portland Oregon where she advised the firm on its marketing strategy. Earlier she was an Assistant Professor at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington where she engaged in scholarly research and taught Marketing Research.

Dr. Sainam has published articles in leading journals including Marketing Science and the Journal of Marketing Research. Her research interests include studying the optimality of new pricing decisions, marketing strategy under uncertainty and the role of price advertising on retailer and manufacturer profits. She is also a frequent presenter at annual meetings of such organizations as the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS), Summer Institute of Competitive Strategy (SICS) and other leading Marketing conferences around the world.
