As Chief Operating Officer, Pete Hill oversees the business aspects of Thunderbird’s management, including finance and accounting, information and instructional technology, enrollment and student services, marketing and communications, human resources, alumni relations and external affairs, business strategy and operations, and executive education. Prior to joining Thunderbird, Mr. Hill worked in the commercial banking industry for 35 years, including senior roles that have required him to make substantial improvements to business processes. Most recently, he served as Director of Credit Administration and Chief Credit Officer for an Arizona-based bank. His responsibilities included regulatory compliance, policy formulation, credit risk management, appraisal review, loan documentation and accounting and problem loan resolution. Mr. Hill previously has been active in working with the Diocese of Phoenix School Board and Finance Council. His professional experience in banking extends across many industry types, including higher education. Mr. Hill has a Bachelor of Science and MBA from Arizona State University. Originally from New Mexico, he and his wife live in Phoenix and have four children. He enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, auto racing, and traveling for these interests.
