Frank Tuzzolino, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Finance at Thunderbird School of Global Management, whose professional experience ranges from the boardrooms of Wall Street to the research laboratories of NASA. He is widely respected as an expert in the areas of corporate finance and global investments.
His research has appeared in some of the top academic journals, including the Academy of Management Review, the Academy of Management Proceedings, the Thunderbird International Business Review and Arizona Business. Additionally, he has presented scholarly papers before the Academy of Management, the Financial Management Association and the Southern Finance Association.
A 10-time winner of Thunderbird’s Outstanding Teaching award, Dr. Tuzzolino has taught such courses as Corporate Finance and Investments, Financial Statement Analysis and Quantitative Methods in Thunderbird’s full-time Arizona-based MBA program, their Executive MBA programs stateside and abroad, and their Global MBA for Latin American Managers. In addition, he has taught in South Korea, France, Mexico, Prague and Geneva on behalf of Thunderbird’s different degree and certificate salients.
Before joining the Thunderbird faculty, Dr. Tuzzolino gained practical experience as an operating officer at Citibank. He also spent eight years fulfilling his original engineering ambitions, serving as a research and project engineer in the aerospace sector where he earned top security clearances with NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology. He has designed and delivered courses in Accounting, Finance and Quantitative Analysis for a variety of corporate clients worldwide.
Dr. Tuzzolino has served as a faculty member at his engineering alma mater, Manhattan College, as well as at the State University of New York (SUNY) and at Long Island University. In addition to his Thunderbird teaching awards, he has been honored as an Arizona State University Fellow, a Regents Scholar, and a National Merit Scholar.
A native of New York City who is fluent in Italian, Dr. Tuzzolino earned his Ph.D. at Arizona State University. He received his MS from NYU/Polytechnic, and was awarded his BS in mechanical engineering at Manhattan College.
