MBA in Global Management

Since The Wall Street Journal began ranking business schools in 1997, Thunderbird has been ranked #1 annually in the international category as a result of its globally recognized curriculum. The MBA in Global Management is Thunderbird's flagship degree, and accounts for the majority of our students.

Students in this full-time program may choose to focus on one of four areas of study: Global Finance, Global Marketing, Global Management or International Development.

One defining feature of the degree program is its language requirement, which demands that students be bilingual upon graduation.

Students in the full-time program receive the MBA in Global Management degree.

Executive MBA

The Executive MBA (EMBA) mirrors the full-time program in its global focus, but the delivery format is tailored to mid- to senior-level executives worldwide who don't want to miss a step in their professional careers. EMBA participants study in Arizona, the Czech Republic, China and Moscow in highly interactive modules where they learn global management not only from faculty, but also from each other. These students have a wealth of experience in their industries, and some are seeking new positions.

Students in the EMBA program receive the MBA in Global Management degree.

Global MBA On-Demand

The Global MBA On-Demand is a distance learning program designed for working professionals. Unlike most distance learning programs, however, Thunderbird's 46-credit distance learning program delivers 25% of its coursework via on-site seminars in locations such as Arizona, the Czech Republic and China, putting students' newly acquired business and cross-cultural communication skills to the test as they visit regional company headquarters and gain practical experience along the way.

Students in the Global MBA On-Demand program receive the Global MBA degree.

Global MBA for Latin American Managers

The Global MBA for Latin American Managers is a distance learning program for working professionals with a special focus on global and Latin American business issues. Like the Global MBA On-Demand program, the curriculum is complemented by on-site seminars, in addition to local class facilitation and virtual interaction. Global MBA for Latin America graduates generally carry a Spanish and English language proficiency, and bring a unique blend of business management, cross-cultural communication and international relations expertise from a Latin American perspective.

Like the Global MBA On-Demand program, students in the Global MBA for Latin American Managers program received the Global MBA degree.

Master of Arts in Global Affairs & Management

The MA in Global Affairs and Management is designed for students committed to pursuing careers in the public or social sector, and provides a unique blend of international relations training, global business skills and second language proficiency.

Master of Science in Global Management

The MS in Global Management is designed for students who want to transition an undergraduate degree in liberal arts and sciences or engineering to a career in international business. These graduates offer your organization a strong foundation in international finance, management and marketing, along with second language proficiency.

Dual Degree

Students already enrolled in MBA programs at our partner institutions can take advantage of Thunderbird's truly global offerings through the dual degree program. This program is offered through courses on-campus and abroad, or in Web-based format so professionals can continue to work from anywhere in the world while earning their degrees. Taking classes at both Thunderbird and the partner school, students graduate with two degrees: an MBA from our partner institution and a Master of Global Management from Thunderbird.

Post MBA Master's Degree

For individuals who already have an MBA from an AACSB-accredited institution, but are seeking the extra edge that will position them for global business, Thunderbird offers the Master of Global Management. This program can be completed at the Glendale campus or via the web with seminars abroad for working professionals.
