Jordan Partnership

An extended partnership with the Business Development Center (BDC) in Jordan has focused on business growth for the economic and social benefit of the country. The partnership has included four main components.

Supporting Entrepreneurs and Enterprise Development Seminars (SEEDS)

Women entrepreneurs from Jordan participated in a two-week business training program at Thunderbird’s campus in Glendale, Arizona. This 2009 program combined classroom learning, business site visits and networking events. Mentors assigned to each participant provided additional support.

Maharat at Thunderbird

Jordanian students who excelled in the Business Development Center’s Maharat Program enrolled at Thunderbird for one trimester of study in Glendale, Arizona. These 20 students lived and took classes with Thunderbird’s full-time graduate students to complete a “Certificate of Global Business.”

Jordan internships

Thunderbird MBA students work as consultants with selected businesses in Jordan. These qualified interns spend one trimester in Jordan to develop and implement action plans that aid designated businesses on specific needs.

Executive Training Seminars

The executive training program was developed to meet the needs of women entrepreneurs, midlevel managers and business owners in Jordan. Participants attended multiple in-country seminars taught by Thunderbird faculty.
