Be an intern: Travel abroad as a field consultant
Micro-entrepreneurs who participate in Proyecto Salta attend a three-hour business training course taught in Spanish at community centers all over Peru. But many business owners need additional support. Thunderbird MBA students provide follow up guidance through an internship program launched in 2011. Interns selected for the program spend 12 weeks in Peru working one-on-one for 10 hours or more with Proyecto Salta participants. The interns help the micro-business owners with everything from cash flow management and inventory control to marketing strategy. Spanish proficiency is required for selected interns, who receive financial support from our Proyecto Salta funding partners.
