President and Chief Operating Officer of The Go Daddy Group Warren Adelman will speak at Thunderbird School of Global Management, 1:10 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1. Adelman will speak on “Customer Driven Innovation in a Socially Connected World” during which he will share insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by the explosion of social media and its impact on businesses and employment candidates. The presentation is part of the school’s Global Issues Forum speaker series and is open to the media and the general public.
The Scottsdale-based company, which serves more than 7 million global customers and employs more than 2,200 employees, has seen steady growth and expansion despite the economic downturn and is expecting to hire 100 new Arizona-based positions by the end of October. The company is ranked on the latest Inc. 500/5000 Fastest Growing companies list and recently expanded its reach into Europe, opening a Data Center in the Netherlands.
“Go Daddy’s global success as the world’s leading domain name registrar is testament to the company’s leadership and cutting-edge strategies that continue to position the organization for growth and expansion,” said Thunderbird President Ángel Cabrera.
During 2008, The Go Daddy Group registered more than one-third of all new domain names created in the top six generic top-level domains, or gTLDs, including .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .mobi. The company has more than 36 million domain names under management and reports that it renews or transfers a domain name every second. Well known for its edgy Super Bowl advertisements, Go Daddy recently announced it would be running two 30-second commercial slots during next year’s big game.
Adelman is responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, as well as resource management, process improvement and corporate strategic planning. He oversees information technology, information security and continuity planning, human resources, domain name services and customer sales and support. Adelman also heads the company’s Governance and Policy Committee.
