Follow Afghan women entrepreneurs in daily blogThe newest group of Project Artemis women entrepreneurs arrived Oct. 11 from Afghanistan for two weeks of intensive business training. Follow the women’s progress in a Thunderbird Knowledge Network blog maintained by program director Kellie Kreiser.

During their stay in Arizona, these Afghan women will tour business sites, listen to guest speakers and study leadership, finance, negotiation strategy, marketing and human resource management in courses taught by Thunderbird professors.

The women will graduate from the program Oct. 24 and then return to Afghanistan, where they will apply their skills as business leaders in the war-torn country. Mentors assigned to each Project Artemis graduate will help the women apply their new training at home.

The women on campus are part of the third cohort of Project Artemis, a program that Thunderbird launched in 2006 to help women entrepreneurs succeed in Afghanistan in the post-Taliban era.
