 Thunderbird announces new Chief Academic Officer and Dean~Thunderbird School of Global Management announced today that Professor David Bowen, Ph.D., will be the new Chief Academic Officer and Dean of the School upon the departure of Professor Robert Widing. Bowen previously served as Dean from 2001 to 2005.

 Thunderbird students lend advice to businesses in Vietnam, Peru and Rwanda~Teams of full-time Thunderbird student consultants have arrived in Rwanda and Vietnam and soon will arrive in Peru for a new program designed to immerse students in emerging economies. Called the Thunderbird Emerging Markets Laboratory (TEM Lab), the program is the first of its kind at Thunderbird and seeks to strengthen partnerships between the school and developing markets.

 Thunderbird hosts 6th annual Global Private Equity Investing Conference~Thunderbird School of Global Management will host its sixth annual Global Private Equity Investing Conference April 7-9 to help investors navigate the challenging economic environment. The conference at Thunderbird’s Glendale, Ariz., campus will cover how new regulations threaten private equity.

The school, which specializes in global business management, offers a wide array of degree and non-degree programs for both full-time students and working professionals. The next information session will be about all of Thunderbird’s top-ranked graduate degree programs for full-time students, working professionals or distance learners. It will be held March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix.

Thunderbird’s Global MBA On-Demand was listed among the top five programs globally by The Economist today in its ratings of distance learning MBA programs.

 Thunderbird students to solve real-world challenge for Henkel in new Innovation & Creativity course~Thunderbird School of Global Management and Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., are teaming up in “Innovation & Creativity,” a new Spring 2010 course that provides a blended opportunity for Thunderbird students to learn innovation and adaptability concepts in a fast-changing environment via business industry guest speakers, case studies, benchmarking and a real-world capstone project for Henkel’s laundry care business unit.  Thunderbird welcomes interested students to campus during 360° Preview Weekend Feb. 26-28~Thunderbird School of Global Management will host prospective students and accepted applicants for a Preview Weekend Feb. 26-28. Participants will get a taste of Thunderbird life including overviews and introductions to the academic programs and a mini-course taught by a Thunderbird professor.  The class will be on international business management, international studies and cross-cultural communications, and will have the same structure as a regular class at Thunderbird to simulate the class experience.

 Thunderbird launches new online executive certificate series~Thunderbird School of Global Management launched an Executive Certificate in Global Negotiations today as part of a new online executive education offering at the school. The program is open to professionals with an interest in expanding their global mindset and their cross-cultural communication skills. The Executive Certificate in Global Negotiations is the first in a new series of online open enrollment programs Thunderbird is launching this year.
