158 to graduate from Thunderbird School of Global Management

  LG Electronics executives to earn customized MBAs

Thunderbird School of Global Management will graduate 158 students from seven different programs Aug. 21, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa.

During the ceremony, 34 executives from Seoul, South Korea-based LG Electronics will join the 80 before them who have participated in the custom MBA program designed and delivered by Thunderbird for high-potential LG managers and executives. The multi-year program designed to educate 150 executives began in 2006.

During this ceremony, the LG Electronics students will be joined by students in the traditional and accelerated MBA in Global Management programs, the Master of Science in Global Management, the Master of Arts in Global Affairs and Management, the Thunderbird/IUKD Master of Global Business/MBA dual degree program and students in Thunderbird’s Post-MBA Master of Global Management program.

President of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center Linda Hunt will be the commencement speaker. St. Joseph’s is the second largest hospital in Arizona and the flagship hospital for Catholic Healthcare West, the leading not-for-profit healthcare system in the western United States.

Under Hunt’s leadership St. Joseph’s has consistently received local and national awards for its high-quality care, innovative research, academic programs and supportive work environment. This recognition includes several Solucient/Thomson Healthcare awards for Top 100 Hospitals, high ranking as one of the “Best Places to Work in the Valley” for several years running, repeated ranking as one of the “Top 25 Workplaces for Women,” and high national scores in U.S. News & World Report for excellence in the neurosciences.,. The hospital was also awarded the 2007 AAMC Spencer Foreman Award for Outstanding Community Service. In July, Hunt was promoted to service area president for CHW-Arizona, managing all three hospitals in the state.
