Tim Propp joined Thunderbird in August 2000 and currently serves as the school's Chief Financial Officer.

Chief Financial Officer

As the CFO of Thunderbird School of Global Management, Tim is responsible for overseeing the worldwide business affairs of the School including finance and accounting, human resources, technology, legal, project management, facilities, and outsourced services.

Prior to joining Thunderbird in 2000, Tim was with Bank One. He most recently served as the Chief Administrative Officer for Bank One International Corporation Americas Division. While at Bank One, Tim also held the positions of CFO for Bank One International Corporation, CFO for Global Commercial Banking Operations, Regional Finance Manager for Retail Banking, and Project Manager for National Consumer Banking. He spent time based in Chicago, Dallas and Phoenix while with Bank One.

Prior to joining Bank One in 1995, Tim spent time at The Arizona Bank which was acquired by Security Pacific which was acquired by Bank of America and held various positions until being named Controller for the Southwest Region. He was also Controller of Caliber Bank, a subsidiary of Bank of America that was sold to independent investors who then sold the bank to Norwest. Before joining the banking industry, Tim was a cost accountant with Storage Technology Corporation in Denver and before that a farmer in eastern Colorado.

Tim earned a BS in Business Administration from Colorado State University in 1981 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1988.

Tim is currently a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants, CFO Alliance, and Financial Executives International where he is a 2-time finalist in their Arizona CFO of the Year Awards. He serves as the vice chairman of the board of HomeBase Youth Services and is chairman of both the nominating and governance, and strategic planning committees and is a member of the executive committee. He also serves on the board of Inroads, Inc. and is chairman of the finance committee and chairman of the Pacific Southwest Region Board. Tim also serves on the CFO Alliance Arizona Chapter Advisory Board and the Phoenix Business Journal’s CFO Advisory Board. Tim has served on many church councils as treasurer or financial secretary and also served as member and treasurer of an 1,800 member homeowners association board. He also enjoys mentoring and supporting the Lost Boys of the Sudan.

Tim and his wife Kathie reside in Scottsdale, Ariz. and have three daughters. In his free time, Tim enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, jeeping, and snow skiing.
