Thunderbird is very grateful to literally thousands of donors whose gifts support our mission of educating tomorrow's global leaders.

Donor Recognition

Thank you to our donors

The school recognizes the generosity of donors in publications such as the Annual Report on Giving, Thunderbird Magazine and press releases (with the permission of the donor), with invitations to special events, membership in recognition groups and by named recognition on a building, room, scholarship fund, etc.

Annual Report on Giving - Fiscal Year 2009-2010

Thunderbird Giving Societies

These societies are composed of the school's closest supporters and offers its members privileged access to exclusive Thunderbird events, including private dinners with world-famous visitors, speakers and friends of the school. Society members also gain invitations to special briefings by Thunderbird President Ángel Cabrera. Membership is available to any donor who contributes annually to the school as well as members of certain other recognition groups (Legacy Society, Lifetime Giving Leaders and Campaign Thunderbird Council of 100).

Legacy Society

The Thunderbird Legacy Society recognizes donors for their support of Thunderbird through any planned giving vehicles (bequests, annuities, trusts, life estates or insurance). Making a gift through Thunderbird Legacy Society allows the donor to plan for Thunderbird's future along with their own.

Lifetime Giving Leaders

Thunderbird's Lifetime Giving Leaders have provided important and substantial financial contributions to Thunderbird and its mission. These dedicated supporters have lifetime giving totals that exceed $300,000 and inspire their friends, colleagues and classmates to support Thunderbird's continued success.

Campaign Thunderbird Million Dollar Hat Club

These generous donors have given $1 million or more to Campaign Thunderbird and can often be identified at Thunderbird events by their distinctive custom-made Thunderbird cowboy hat – a gift to the donor(s) from Craig Barrett, Campaign Chairperson.

Campaign Thunderbird Council of 100

This special group of supporters is helping to set the pace for Campaign Thunderbird. Each has made a commitment of $100,000 or more in the form of gifts and pledges to the campaign.

Naming Opportunities

Donors may also receive recognition by putting their name on a program, scholarship, building or room.
