Global Experience

During two intensive one-week international seminars, you will learn about the opportunities and challenges of doing business in two distinct regions of your choosing. While enjoying these once-in-a-lifetime Regional Business Environment study tours abroad, you will also learn about the history, culture, and politics of the country; experience not just formal classroom instruction, but learn cultural insights first-hand from guest speakers and local alumni; visit local companies; and enjoy cultural excursions. Asia

Locations: Beijing, China (June);  Shanghai, China (October); Hong Kong (October)

Previous Asian study abroad has included:

  • Lectures and presentations on such topics as Asian Regionalism in the 21st Century, Southeast Asia's Cultural Traditions, and Transitioning from Manufacturing to Knowledge-led Growth.
  • Presentations also cover the countreis of China, India, Japan, and Vietnam.
  • Cultural visits to Tiananmen Square, Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Macao, Victoria Peak, and the Bund.
  • Company visits to Lenovo, Microsoft-China, SAIC, InvestHK, Hutchinson Port Holdings.

Europe

Location: Prague, Czech Republic (June)

Previous European study abroad has included:

  • Lectures and presentations on such topics as the European Union, the European perspective on being a global company, and Dealing with European Culture.
  • Cultural excursions to historical and local sites.
  • Company visits to Nestle, Skoda, GE Aviations and Merck Serono S.A.

Latin America

Locations: Santiago, Chile (October); Lima, Peru (February); São Paulo, Brazil (October)

Previous Latin American study abroad has included:

  • Lectures and presentations on such topics as Mercosur & Other Trade Pacts, The Role of the Military, Currency Reform, and Bargaining in Corporate Strategic Alliances.
  • Exposure to some of the fastest growing markets in Latin America including Chile, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Costa Rica, and Mexico
  • Cultural visits to Pachacamac Ruins, La Moneda, Guaruja, Viña del Mar, and Valparaíso.
  • Company visits to Concha y Toro, Puma, MiBanco, Thunderbird Resorts, and the US Embassy.

Africa

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa (February)

Previous African study abroad has included:

  • Lectures and presentations on such topics relating to Private Equity, Healthcare, and international relationships in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Cultural visits to Lesedi Village and Pilanesburg National Park and Game Reserve.
  • Company visits to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the South African Reserve Bank.
