Assistant Director of Global Recruitment
Position Purpose
This position, as a part of the Thunderbird recruitment team, is responsible for school-wide student recruitment activities and achieving institutional enrollment objectives. Recruiting activities include, but are not limited to, telephone and email correspondence with prospective students, referral generation, participation in education expos, counseling, interviewing and advising prospective students and applicants, and yield management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management and prospect/lead processing (80%)
- Manage all conversion activities for assigned prospects throughout the enrollment cycle (initial contact, enrollment advisement meetings, telephone and email follow-up, online chats, webinars, student blogs, profiles, targeted pushes, hospitality weekends, etc.)
- Follow the Thunderbird Recruitment Handbook to insure outstanding service to all prospective students including careful tracking of all initial lead sources.
- Work with alumni and current and prospective students to actively identify qualified prospects to add to Thunderbird’s prospective student database. Work with manager to develop and implement a personal referral strategy.
- Represent Thunderbird through presentations at on-campus events, receptions, public forums and tours.
- Oversee special projects as assigned by management.
- Active involvement in market planning process, segmenting prospective leads in promotional events, providing support for all areas of the plan including strategy, volume, web content, best practice sharing, application projections and print materials.
- Initiate and maintain productive working relationships with other departments such as Alumni Relations, CMC, student groups and Thunderbird 4 Good who are influential to prospective student application decisions.
- Work closely with prospective students to assist them through the enrollment process, including consistent phone and email follow-up on areas such as application requirements and procedures, and various relevant deadlines.
- Coordinate with Admissions staff to ensure seamless transition from prospective student to applicant status.
Other duties as required (20%)
- Travel (domestic and international)
- Manage or assist on projects as designated be Senior Director
- Serve on institutional task force committees as assigned
- Interview qualified applicants and evaluate
Experience/Education
BS/BA, graduate degree preferred.
1-2 years experience in higher education and / or marketing and sales related field.
Strong interpersonal / communication skills, strong analytical skills, working knowledge of admission process. Relationship based sales experience a plus.
Proficiency with PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point. Experience with contact management systems (SLX, Quickbase, Salsforce) a plus but not required.
Willing to travel and work occasional weekends.
